Summer Kick Off

We welcomed Summer with a quick trip to Durango.

We also celebrated our 10 year anniversary while we were there. This Friday Phil and I will celebrate with out the kiddos. I can not believe that 10 years have passed. I love him more then I did the day we got married. I love doing life with him and I am so thankful for the little life we have created.

While in Durango we rode the alpine slides, bungee jumped/bounced, zip lined, went to the hot springs, enjoyed friends and the view.

I am still on contract and Phil has the pleasure of enjoying slow mornings/days with the babies. I am done next week and by done I mean I do not have to go into the office…I will still be working. There is a lot to do as principal!!

We have a super fun trip coming up in July and I just can not wait. I know next year will be crazy with me as a new principal and Phil moving to middle school so a family trip before the crazy begins seems just perfect!!

Answered prayers

My hope is that you have experienced God and His absolute greatness! It is such an amazing feeling knowing that He hears and answers in His time. I have learned (and still learning) that if He doesn’t answer the way we expect it is because He has something greater planned. Point proven…my house.

I was going through a job change (a previous post) and I prayed His will be done. I prayed a big prayer. HE ANSWERED THAT EXACT PRAYER!!!!! I was blown away and the moment it happened I cried. I cried because  I KNEW He was listening and He cares for me.

To make a long story short, I was appointed principal at the school I wanted. The superintendent appointed me to be the principal!!!!!!! What a compliment. My prayer from the very moment I had the conversation and currently is that I lead this school with His grace and through Him I lead all who enter with courage and love. I am so humbled by the love and support of the school community. I feel so honored to step up and lead this school!

these moments

Madeline has always been a tough sleeper. We finally got her into her bed but I would have to lay with her until she fell asleep. I told her that when we moved into our new home she would have to be a big girl and sleep all by herself.

Night one in the house, she fell asleep on her own and slept all night. She even slept in!

Well fast forward to a month in the house and she is Ms. Independent. Sleeps all on her own.

I was telling Phil how I was actually a little bit sad because I miss her sweet snuggles.

Well a few nights ago, or early morning, around 4:15 a.m. I heard her sweet voice, ‘momma’. I quietly went up stairs hoping to not wake Max. She looked at me with very sleepy eyes and said, ‘momma, I need you’. I picked her up and brought her to our bed. Loving every moment with her sweet snuggles.

(not sure how ninja turtle made it to my bed…)

She is back to being Ms. Independent but these moments I make sure to soak up!

Farmhouse update….

I spent the weekend adding some cute flair to my home. I have to give a shout out to Hobby Lobby and their wonderful sale! Love me some 50% off!!!

I hung my first gallery wall and this is so fun and SO easy. I am planning on adding some more photos to this.

I am hoping to do another one as you walk up the stairs.

I added these darling shelves in the dining room. They frame my window and they are simple but perfect.

I added my Home Sweet Home sign to my fireplace because I like the color and texture it adds. I had a different sign up before but I just moved that one to another spot.

And my bedroom. LOVE!

Overall, it is slowly coming together.

Loving all the coziness!!

So, I am in yet another season of wait. My career path is changing! I will still be an administrator. I am stepping up and perhaps even moving school locations. While I often find myself feeling quite unsure or fearful, God is often whispering, be still and trust me.

My quiet time lately is focused on not being fearful and letting go and let God. You would think I have this whole wait thing down…but I don’t! I struggle constantly.

I am resting in this lately…

And that Hillary Scott song, Still. I swear it is like God is speaking to me when I hear it. Her words are such a comfort.

I believe that You are God alone
But sometimes I still try to take control
Cause I get scared when I can’t see the end
And all You want from me is to let go

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still

I bring my praise before I bring my need
Cause there’s no fear You’ve not already seen
I rest my heart on all Your promises
Cause I have seen and know Your faithfulness

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still

And know that You are God
Be still
And know that You, trust that You are parting waters
Lord, You whispered my name
Oh, You answered my prayer
You’re moving mountains

Prayers are much appreciated 🙂

A touch of farmhouse in the desert!

So much like all of you I am sure, I am in love with the farmhouse chic look. And while my house is not a farmhouse…far from it actually, I am bringing in small touches to make my mini castle feel cozy. I must say that I am loving decorating this home. Philip may not appreciate the bill but that is okay 🙂

Any who, below are some pictures of recent touches that I have added.

The ‘be still, my soul’ frames will go above my bed when I receive them. LOVE them!! Thanks Jen for picking them up for me!!

This home sweet home heart will begin my gallery wall in my living area. Can. Not.  Wait.

Found this darling bottle runner at Kirklands. Love the look on my dining room table.

How cozy is this. My favorite.

I looked everywhere for this gather sign, found it on sale!!!

Bathroom shelf in the powder room, still looking for a wall sign to put up but have yet to find one.

I have a little niche in my master and found these little lovelies on Amazon.

These Edison lamps were my treasure find at Hobby Lobby. Got them for 40% off.

My entry way.

That is all for now. I have yet to share the bedrooms and casita.

Here is a sneak peak of Madeline’s room…

I will share the rest in another post.

A Whirlwind!

The month of April has been nothing but a whirlwind!

First Madeline turned 4. And while I am so sad that she is growing faster then I would like, I appreciate her sense of self and sassy attitude. I am praying the Lord uses it for big things, at least that is what I am praying when she is in the middle of her fits 🙂

Max has started baseball. He LOVES it. It has been quite the adventure with all the games but I love to see him excited to play.

Easter happened. We were moving into our house that weekend and Madeline was diagnosed with strep so Easter was acknowledged but not celebrated nearly as much as I would have liked to. It is my absolute favorite holiday.

And speaking of moving…I just love my new home. I feel so blessed and thankful every time I walk into it. To make a VERY long story short, this was not the initial home we purchased. There were some scary things that came up in an inspection so we walked from that home. I was so discouraged because I though it was just perfect. But God, He always has a better plan. Not even a week later another home popped on the market. We looked at it, prayed about it, offered on it, and God made this transition so seamless. The home closed in less then 2 weeks and we are officially home. He does more then we could ever ask or imagine.

Some of my favorite things about the home are the entry way, the kitchen, the flowers, I feel like a princess in my castle…but my most favorite is hearing my sweets playing upstairs.

It feels so good to be home!!

(Love the detail in the ceiling!)

This home is a custom built home that is 2 years old. The previous owners had to move out due to some family circumstances. It is as if they built the home for my family. It is nothing but perfect.

And that super cute thankful sign…sums up exactly how I am feeling these days!

A 4th Birthday

Today we celebrated Madeline’s 4th birthday. This was a little bittersweet for me. Madeline is my last baby and she is growing into a beautiful little lady. Even though her actual birthday is not until Tuesday, I caught myself reminiscing about the morning she was born. More sappy stuff to come on Tuesday 🙂

Anyways, we move into our dream home in 12 days so we had her party at Hoots. Best thing ever. I did NOTHING!! I enjoyed the company, watched the kiddos play, and cleaned up zilch!

We invited her preschool class as well as some close friends. It was perfect! Madeline was so excited and made sure to thank all of her friends for coming. She really has a sweet heart.

We thank you all for sharing the day with our sweet baby girl. My sweet little soon to be 4 year old.

We love you so much Ms. Madeline Grace!

Sipapu Saturday

Today we ventured up to Sipapu Ski Resort. It was a bit chaotic when we first got there and we encountered some issues with private lessons but we still managed to have fun!

The highlight of the trip is Max went down a blue with his daddy. We have a little snowboarder! I couldn’t be more proud!

Madeline and I went down a couple of times together. However, Madeline had more fun making snow angels and playing on the ice castle and ice slides.

It was a fun day!
