Santa Fe Opera

Phil and I were in desperate need of a date night. He took a new position at Middle School and me being a new principal has been quite exhausting. We are almost like 2 ships passing in the night. I told him come September I would be back. Starting a school year is no joke and took nearly all my time.

Any who…we went to Santa Fe Opera for the Bon Iver show. We took some good friends and had the best night. I wish I had more pics to capture the fun but I don’t. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.

The venue was AMAZING. We will be going back.

Summer 2017Summer 2017_1

The last time Phil and I saw Bon Iver was at Coachella. Another great adventure with the hubby.

What is on my list now…besides running a household, being a mom, wife, running an entire school…is to soak up FALL! My favorite time of year.

An 8th Birthday

And just like that my sweet boy is 8!! It is unreal to me how fast time flies. I look at him and I still remember the way his 6lb. body felt in my arms. The long nights, the struggles with nursing, the first steps, the sweet giggles, and I miss them. Oh do I miss them. But I look at him and I cherish who he is growing into. A fine young gentleman.

This year we invited some of his closet buddies to have a sleep over. We went to Hinkle Family Fun Center, Dions, and then back to our house for more fun.

At one point in the evening Max came up to me and thanked me saying this was the best birthday ever.

Oh my sweet son, you are dearly loved. Happy 8th Birthday, buddy!! We love you to the moon and back…twice.

Back to School!

We started a new school year. My sweet boy gets to go to school with me. As a second grader it is cool that his mom is the principal. I anticipate this changing come fourth or fifth grade!

Max 2nd grade…wants to be a computer scientist.

Madeline is still at her same preschool. Next year she will be with me and I can not wait!

Madeline Pre K…wants to be a firefighter.

Back to School 2017

We went to Disney Land…

In JULY! I always say it, how busy I am. And truly I am. I am finally giving this poor blog some attention. I love looking back at it and seeing how our little family changes.

So with out further ado…

DISNEYLAND!!!! Max had been before but never Madeline. They had the best time and they lasted the long days and nights of rides and shows. We were in CA for 5 days and explored Disney, CA Adventure, saw family, it was perfect.

My favorites were seeing Max go on all rides, he has NO fear,Madeline and her sweet eyes when she saw her favorite princesses and characters, And spending quality time together as a family.

Cars Land was phenomenal. Every detail and thought that they put into that area was amazing. I hope to be back soon…next time though Phil and I will be running their half marathon.

Summer Kick Off

We welcomed Summer with a quick trip to Durango.

We also celebrated our 10 year anniversary while we were there. This Friday Phil and I will celebrate with out the kiddos. I can not believe that 10 years have passed. I love him more then I did the day we got married. I love doing life with him and I am so thankful for the little life we have created.

While in Durango we rode the alpine slides, bungee jumped/bounced, zip lined, went to the hot springs, enjoyed friends and the view.

I am still on contract and Phil has the pleasure of enjoying slow mornings/days with the babies. I am done next week and by done I mean I do not have to go into the office…I will still be working. There is a lot to do as principal!!

We have a super fun trip coming up in July and I just can not wait. I know next year will be crazy with me as a new principal and Phil moving to middle school so a family trip before the crazy begins seems just perfect!!

Answered prayers

My hope is that you have experienced God and His absolute greatness! It is such an amazing feeling knowing that He hears and answers in His time. I have learned (and still learning) that if He doesn’t answer the way we expect it is because He has something greater planned. Point proven…my house.

I was going through a job change (a previous post) and I prayed His will be done. I prayed a big prayer. HE ANSWERED THAT EXACT PRAYER!!!!! I was blown away and the moment it happened I cried. I cried because  I KNEW He was listening and He cares for me.

To make a long story short, I was appointed principal at the school I wanted. The superintendent appointed me to be the principal!!!!!!! What a compliment. My prayer from the very moment I had the conversation and currently is that I lead this school with His grace and through Him I lead all who enter with courage and love. I am so humbled by the love and support of the school community. I feel so honored to step up and lead this school!

these moments

Madeline has always been a tough sleeper. We finally got her into her bed but I would have to lay with her until she fell asleep. I told her that when we moved into our new home she would have to be a big girl and sleep all by herself.

Night one in the house, she fell asleep on her own and slept all night. She even slept in!

Well fast forward to a month in the house and she is Ms. Independent. Sleeps all on her own.

I was telling Phil how I was actually a little bit sad because I miss her sweet snuggles.

Well a few nights ago, or early morning, around 4:15 a.m. I heard her sweet voice, ‘momma’. I quietly went up stairs hoping to not wake Max. She looked at me with very sleepy eyes and said, ‘momma, I need you’. I picked her up and brought her to our bed. Loving every moment with her sweet snuggles.

(not sure how ninja turtle made it to my bed…)

She is back to being Ms. Independent but these moments I make sure to soak up!

Farmhouse update….

I spent the weekend adding some cute flair to my home. I have to give a shout out to Hobby Lobby and their wonderful sale! Love me some 50% off!!!

I hung my first gallery wall and this is so fun and SO easy. I am planning on adding some more photos to this.

I am hoping to do another one as you walk up the stairs.

I added these darling shelves in the dining room. They frame my window and they are simple but perfect.

I added my Home Sweet Home sign to my fireplace because I like the color and texture it adds. I had a different sign up before but I just moved that one to another spot.

And my bedroom. LOVE!

Overall, it is slowly coming together.

Loving all the coziness!!

Still

So, I am in yet another season of wait. My career path is changing! I will still be an administrator. I am stepping up and perhaps even moving school locations. While I often find myself feeling quite unsure or fearful, God is often whispering, be still and trust me.

My quiet time lately is focused on not being fearful and letting go and let God. You would think I have this whole wait thing down…but I don’t! I struggle constantly.

I am resting in this lately…

And that Hillary Scott song, Still. I swear it is like God is speaking to me when I hear it. Her words are such a comfort.

I believe that You are God alone
But sometimes I still try to take control
Cause I get scared when I can’t see the end
And all You want from me is to let go

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still

I bring my praise before I bring my need
Cause there’s no fear You’ve not already seen
I rest my heart on all Your promises
Cause I have seen and know Your faithfulness

You’re parting waters
Making a way for me
You’re moving mountains that I don’t even see
You’ve answered my prayer before I even speak
All You need for me to be is still

And know that You are God
Be still
And know that You, trust that You are parting waters
Lord, You whispered my name
Oh, You answered my prayer
You’re moving mountains

Prayers are much appreciated 🙂
